How the USA tries to block global climate protection

Condoleeza Rice was astonished: "One has to wonder if you're really concerned about greenhouse gas emissions why you aren't interested in nuclear power" she said in Potsdam on Wednesday.

Dear Ms Rice, it is all very simple: nuclear power seems to be a "clean" sort of energy, but the dangers are much to high. What if a nuclear power station collapses? We do not have forgotten what has happenend in Tschernobyl 1986 or Harrisburg 1979. Let it be technical or human failure or even a "terrorist attack" (you talk so often about "terrorists", so you should know what it means) - the catastrophic harms of contamination with nuclear material are too terrible for human beings and nature.
We should not seperate the climate problem from our relationship towards nature as a whole and we should not seperate ourselves as human beings from the system of nature so much. In the longrun, it is much more sane to live with nature than to live against nature.

G.W. Bush yesterday made an alternative proposal about his ideas on the protection of the climate. While he dislikes to work together with the international community and the United Nations, he favors a club of the most filthy nations: the 15 economies with the highest CO2 emissions should come together and discuss about limiting themselves voluntarily. Is this Utopia: criminals judge themselves?
